World’s attitude towards India has changed: PM Modi | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that the world’s attitude towards India has changed completely and the country’s prestige, on a global scale, has increased.

“Today, the focus of the entire world is on India. India’s prestige, on a global scale, has increased. The world’s attitude towards India has changed,” PM Modi said after laying the foundation stone for the redevelopment of 508 railway stations across the country. The redevelopment process is a part of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Citing two major reasons behind the change in world’s attitude towards India, the Prime Minister said, “First, Indians brought in a full majority government after almost 30 years and second, the full majority government took major decisions and continuously worked for a permanent solution to all challenges”.

The Prime Minister said that railways has huge potential to give huge push to growth and development of the nation. “The goal is to make railway journeys not just accessible but also enjoyable. Each ‘Amrit Bharat Station’ will become symbol of city’s modern aspirations and ancient heritage,” he said.
This ambitious redevelopment project, costing Rs 25,000 crore, is set to revolutionise the nation’s rail infrastructure. The Amrit Bharat Station Scheme was launched to redevelop 1,309 stations across the country.
The project aims to provide modern passenger amenities while ensuring smooth traffic circulation, seamless inter-modal integration, and clear signage for the convenience of passengers.
The 508 stations which will be redeveloped are spread across 27 states and union territories, with significant numbers in Uttar Pradesh (55) and Rajasthan (55), followed by Bihar (49), Maharashtra (44), West Bengal (37), Madhya Pradesh (34), Assam (32), Odisha (25), Punjab (22), and Gujarat (21), among others.
The station buildings’ design will draw inspiration from local culture, heritage, and architecture, creating a unique identity for each station.
