Virat Kohli slams reports of building cricket pitch in new Alibaug farmhouse
Virat Kohli has slammed reports stating that he was planning to build a cricket pitch inside his farmhouse in Alibaug, that is being constructed at the moment.
Kohli and Anushka had purchased an expansive eight-acre land in the plush Alibaug area near Mumbai\. The property, located near Zirad village, was acquired through two separate deals for a total cost of approximately Rs 19.24 crore. The land parcels, measured approximately 2.54 acres and 4.91 acres respectively.
The couple had recently visited their eight-acre land at Alibaug to check on the details of the construction of their farmhouse. There were some reports suggesting that Kohli would be looking to build a cricket pitch inside the farmhouse.
However, the star batter has now slammed these reports in a story on Instagram. Kohli was quoted saying in the story:
“Bachpan se jo akhbaar Padha hai, wo bhi fake news chaapne lage ab (The newspapers which I have read since childhood, have also started publishing fake news),” said Kohli on his Instagram story.
This is not the first time Kohli has taken to social media to address such rumours. There were reports circulating recently about Kohli’s earnings through social media. It was claimed that he earned a staggering Rs 11.4 crore per single sponsored post through Instagram. These reports were refuted by Kohli himself, who took to Twitter to clarify that the news about his social media earnings was not true. He expressed his gratitude for all that he has received in life but firmly denied the figures that were being circulated.
Kohli was last seen in action during the tour of West Indies where he played both Test matches and one ODI. The star batter ended his overseas century drought in the second Test against West Indies in Trinidad.
Kohli played the first ODI in the Carribean as well, but didn’t come out to bat during the match.
