US presidential polls: Elon Musk calls Indian-American Vivek Ramaswamy ‘very promising candidate’ – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Indian-American Vivek Ramaswamy, who has emerged as one of the frontrunners in the Republican race for the 2024 US presidential polls, has got a big endorsement from billionaire Elon Musk.

“He is a very promising candidate,” Musk said on X (formerly Twitter) while referring to Ramaswamy’s interview with popular journalist Tucker Carlson.

In the 45-minute interview, Ramaswamy spoke with Carlson about the “void” he is trying to fill in American politics.

Ramaswamy also argued that US is at a point where the “government and the broader establishment believe that the citizens of the nation cannot be trusted with the truth.”
Praising Ramaswamy after the interview, the former Fox News primetime host said that the Republican hopeful is “one of the best-versed voices in policy” he has spoken with.

The 38-year-old biotech entrepreneur has emerged as a breakout candidate in the GOP primaries as he challenges former US President Donald Trump and Florida governor Ron DeSantis for a Republican nomination.
Notably, Ramaswamy, who wears his Hindu faith on his sleeve, has managed to carve a distinct niche in a party traditionally dominated by evangelical Christians.
His campaign message emphasises the alignment of his Hindu values with the Judeo-Christian foundation of US.
