Unfazed by 41 FIRs, Priyanka Gandhi to take the fight to BJP in MP | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Being the only person from the Congress leadership to address rallies in election-bound Madhya Pradesh till now, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will again sound the bugle in the state next month, in what will dare the BJP regime to act on the reported 41 FIRs filed against her for alleging 50% commission by the Shivraj Chouhan government.

Former chief minister and MP Congress president Kamal Nath told TOI that corruption was rampant under BJP, and that police cases would have no impact on the tour programmes being planned. AICC state in-charge J P Agarwal said, “The Gandhi family is taking on the might of the Modi government fearlessly, and it will not be intimidated by this flurry of FIRs against Priyanka Gandhi.”
Sources said Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge is set to address a public meeting in Sagar on August 22. It will be the first big show by the party chief in the MP campaign. A similar rally planned by Rahul Gandhi in Shahdol for August 13 was cancelled, and is still to be slotted again. Sources said rains and farmers’ issues have disturbed the earlier travel plan of the leadership, but activities will pick up now.

Priyanka kicked off the Congress campaign with prayers at the Narmada river and a rally in Jabalpur on June 12, and followed it up with a big public meeting on July 21 in Gwalior.
However, her next foray will come in the backdrop of the FIRs against her across the state, with a possibility of police action. But Congress said it was not worried.
