RANCHI: After the immense success of his film ‘Jailer’, superstar Rajinikanth visited the land of his spiritual guru in Ranchi. Rajinikanth holds deep reverence for his guru, Paramahansa Yogananda.

Yogananda established the Yoga Ashram in Ranchi and the headquarters of the Yoga Satsang Society is also located here. During his visit, Rajinikanth had a meeting with Jharkhand’s governor CP Radhakrishnan at the Raj Bhavan. The governor shared pictures of their meeting on his social media handle.

Governor’s Tweet Shares the Moment
Governor CP Radhakrishnan tweeted, “I am delighted to meet my friend, one of India’s great actors and a wonderful human being, Rajnikanth. We had a pleasant meeting at the Raj Bhavan. Welcome to the land of Jharkhand.” The information about Rajnikanth’s visit to Ranchi was kept highly confidential. It was only when the Governor shared the pictures that people became aware of his presence.
Offering Prayers at Chhinnamasta Temple
Rajinikanth performed a puja (ritual prayer) at the renowned Chhinnamasta Temple, a prominent Siddha Peeth in the country. The administration kept his arrival in Ramgarh discreet. When he returned from the temple, news of his visit spread among the people. During this time, he mentioned that he enjoyed his time in Jharkhand.
Rajnikanth’s Longstanding Connection with Ranchi
Rajinikanth has a longstanding connection with Ranchi. He frequently visits here for spiritual practice and meditation in a discreet manner. The headquarters of the Yoga Satsang Ashram is located in Ranchi, and he often comes here for spiritual pursuits. Rajinikanth is a permanent member of the Yoga Satsang Society.
Spiritual Guru Paramahansa Yogananda
After experiencing a series of film flops in the 1990s, Rajinikanth found solace in the teachings of Swami Paramahansa Yogananda. He read Yogananda’s book ‘Autobiography of a Yogi’ in 1998, which deeply influenced him. This led him to take initiation into Kriya Yoga at the Yoga Satsang Ashram, where he considered Paramahansa Yogananda as his guru.
Paramahansa Yogananda established the first ashram of Yogoda Satsanga Society (YSS) in Ranchi. In 2000, Rajinikanth made the film ‘Baba’ based on his guru Paramahansa Yogananda. In 2002, he visited the Uttarakhand branch of Yogoda Satsang and received Kriya Yoga initiation from Swami Nityananda Giri Maharaj. Since then, Rajinikanth has frequently visited the ashrams of Yogoda Satsang for spiritual peace. He has mentioned several times that spirituality and meditation play a significant role in his success.

Currently, Rajinikanth is at the center of attention due to his film ‘Jailer’. The movie has been creating waves in India and around the world. According to media reports, within the first seven days of its release, the film ‘Jailer’ has earned over 200 crores in India and more than 400 crores worldwide.
