Rahul Gandhi returns to Delhi with a Jack Russell Terrier puppy he got in Goa | Goa News – Times of India

PANAJI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who arrived in the state on Wednesday night to pick up a Jack Russell Terrier puppy from a family in Mapusa, left for Delhi on Thursday afternoon. During his short visit, he also met with party legislators and even held a brief discussion with state Congress president Amit Patkar and opposition leader Yuri Alemao over Lok Sabha poll preparations.

Rahul told his MLAs to remain united and to also work with other opposition party legislators.
Turning to the issue of repeated betrayals by MLAs, Rahul asked them to focus on re-establishing the connect with the grassroots, which has moved away from the party. He also had a short interaction with AICC in-charge for Goa Manickam Tagore.

“We had an opportunity to speak to him about several issues about our party and the way our party needs to move forward. There was a discussion about the elections, political strategy, and how we in the state should go about the parliamentary election,” said Alemao.
All three Congress legislators—Alemao, Carlos Ferriera and Altone D’Costa—were present for the meeting with Rahul.
“Goa is very close to his heart. We discussed in detail several other political issues for the future. The eight defectors also came up during the discussion and he has asked us to strengthen the party,” said Alemao.

Meanwhile, Shade’s Kennel, from where Rahul picked up the puppy, said in a statement on Facebook, “We at Shade’s are so honoured to have Rahul Gandhi at our residence. Rahul exclusively flew down to Goa to have a puppy from the best litter in India. We are really overwhelmed.”
