Nuh: Violence lasted in Nuh for 3 hours, for 1 hour in Sohna: What happened in Haryana on Monday | Gurgaon News – Times of India



NEW DELHI: On Monday afternoon, there were violent confrontations at Nuh Chowk when approximately 80 vehicles and motorcycles, carrying participants of the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra, were prevented from proceeding towards a Shiv temple in Nalhar. Here’s what happened on Monday:

Haryana Communal Violence: Section 144 in Gurugram, Faridabad, Nuh; internet suspended

10am | Thousands gather for the Brij Mandal Jalabhishek Yatra, which begins from Nalhar in Nuh. The march is supposed to cross temples across the district and end by evening
12pm | Some people of the group allegedly raise slogans, which trigger stone-pelting. According to one report, it begins at Khedla Mod in Nuh
4pm | By now, clashes spread all across Nuh. Vehicles, police stations, shops and petrol pumps are torched. Some people carrying arms fire in the air
5.30pm | Haryana govt suspends mobile internet and SMS services till August 2 in Nuh, citing ‘intense communal tension’ and danger to life and property
6pm | Violence also spreads to areas adjoining Nuh, including Sohna in Gurgaon, Hodal in Palwal and Ballabgarh in Faridabad; a group attempts to block Rajiv Chowk intersection on NH-8, but cops manage to disperse the crowd
8.30pm | Gurgaon deputy commissioner issues a warning against any online post that could spread rumours and incite violence
