Man sent back from Pakistan is an ISI agent: Cops | India News – Times of India

SHAMLI: Days after a family of three – the 70-year-old father, mother, 65, and son, 35 – were “sent back” from a jail in Pakistan after spending a year there, UP police made a startling claim on Thursday, saying “the son was in fact deported as part of an ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) operation”.

ASP (Meerut) Brijesh Singh, part of the UP STF field unit, said, “Kalim Ahmed, the son of Nafees Ahmad and Amana, used to smuggle weapons from across the border but last year Pakistan customs department detained him, along with his parents. It is the ISI that got the family out of jail and deported them to India.”
The ASP added: “During interrogation, it was revealed that Yusuf Samsi, a Saharanpur resident, provided SIM cards with fake IDs to Kalim and his brother Tehseem, through which information was passed on to ISI handlers in Pakistan. Some documents in Urdu have been found and further investigations are on.”

Kalim was apprehended by the UP special task force (STF) on Thursday. Two mobile phones were recovered from him. One of them belongs to his brother Tehseem, who allegedly shared information “related to national security”.
A senior officer privy to the investigation alleged Kalim is an “agent of the ISI and has been involved in orchestrating illegal activities in India. He is now being interrogated by security agencies for more details”.
Brothers Kalim and Tahseen and Saharanpur-based Yusuf Samsi have been booked under the IPC sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly), 121-A (conspiracy to commit offences), 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion), as well as sections 13 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act following a case filed against them by STF officials at Shamli police station on Thursday.
