The sarpanch of Dhaturia village said that the decision was unanimously taken in a meeting by villagers and though the banners were removed they would continue to seek, aadhaar cards and other identity details of traders entering their village.
The posters mentioned, “Entry of Muslim and Christian traders in Dhaura panchayat is banned”, the poster also said that traders should enter the village with their aadhaar cards and proper identity. So far, the

“Our objective is to protect our women and children and to prevent thefts and other such activities. We are hearing of things like love jihad, religious conversions, then there are thefts. We will continue to keep an eye on every visitor and check for their identity. They can sell products at designated place and not door-to-door after informing police or taking permission from panchayat. Thieves masquerading as retailers who conduct recce about the houses,” he said.
