It’s official: Ranveer Singh is the new ‘Don’, Farhan Akhtar drops first look of ‘Don 3’ – WATCH | Hindi Movie News – Times of India

Since a few days, several reports suggested that Ranveer Singh has been roped in as the new Don for ‘Don 3’. On Tuesday, Farhan Akhtar took to social media and paid an ode to Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan, expressing how they’ve created a legacy with ‘Don’ with their own inimitable ways of making this character iconinc. But it’s time now to take the legacy forward with a new actor, said Farhan.

Well, it’s now official! Ranveer Singh is the new Don. Farhan dropped a teaser video to introduce him in ‘Don 3’. While the video doesn’t show his face first, he can be seen in a macho, all black avatar in a jacket with a cigerette. One can hear him say, “Maut se khelna zindagi hai meri, jeetna hi mera kaam hai. Tum toh ho jaante, joh mera naam hai.”
He further says the iconinc dialogue from ‘Don’, “gyarah mulkon ki police dhundhti hai mujhe, par pakad paaya hai mujhko kaun, main hoon Don.” This teaset was shared with the caption, “A new era begins.”

While several fans aren’t very happy with this choice, many have also come out in his support. One user wrote, “Shahrukh Khan in Don was literally all gimmicky and unconvincing. If being honest he has already spoiled the legacy of this character which was once created by the OG Bachchan. Ranveer is a versatile and once in a generation actor. I have faith in him. He will kill it” But another user said, “#RanveerSingh is my fav….but I’m not getting the vibe….sorry to say 😞. I can only see #srk as don…no one else can match the vibe.”
Well, it’s certainly too early to judge this choice. Time will tell. ‘Don 3’ will be directed by Farhan Akhtar. The script and dialogues seem to be written by Pushkar and Gayatri of ‘Vikram Vedha’ fame since they were also tagged while sharing the promo. This video is going to be attached to ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘OMG 2’ along with Ranveer’s film ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’.
