Bumrah’s highly anticipated comeback might face a climatic interruption as the weather report predicts a strong possibility of rain during the match. According to weather.com, there’s a 68% chance of rain at 3:00 PM local time, when the match is scheduled to begin.

The rain forecast gets worse as the day goes on, with 88% chance of rain at 4:00 PM, 93% chance of rain at 5:00 PM, and 100% chance of rain between 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The percentage chance of rain is predicted to stay above 96% for the rest of the day, which is bleak news for Indian cricket fans across the globe.

Being an indispensable part of India’s forceful pace attack, the 29-year-old Bumrah’s comeback is crucial for India’s Asia Cup and ODI World Cup campaigns. He has been exhibiting promising signs of complete recovery during the practice sessions at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). However, consistent gameplay in the Ireland series is crucial for regaining a competitive pace.

India has played eight matches (three ODIs and five T20Is) against Ireland, winning all of them. The last time the two sides met, India came out on top by just four runs in what was a high-scoring encounter which saw all-rounder Deepak Hooda score his maiden T20I century.

India will take on Ireland in the first match at the Malahide Cricket Club Ground in Dublin today, before locking horns at the same venue on August 20, and finishing off the series on August 23.
