While there are several EVs in the market that make use of conventional 15 Amp home sockets for charging, it is advisable to set up a more powerful, fast charging-capable unit for added convenience. Here, we take a look at a step-by-step guide on how to install an EV charger at home.
Check your eligibility
Not all homes are eligible to install an EV charger. You will need to check with your local electricity board to see if your home’s electrical system is up to the task. You may also need to obtain a permit from the local authorities.
Choose the right charger and space
There are two main types of EV chargers: Level 1 and Level 2. Level 2 chargers use a 240-volt outlet and are much faster than Level 1 chargers. You will need to choose the right charger for your needs.

Install the charger
