Heavy rain leads to waterlogging in parts of Delhi-NCR; yellow alert issued for national capital till Friday | Delhi News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Heavy rainfall lashed several parts of the national capital and its neighbouring cities, including Noida and Gurgaon, leading to waterlogging on roads on Wednesday.

The heavy downpour and waterlogging will likely lead to traffic snarls in the cities.

The city’s weather on Tuesday remained uneven with some areas experiencing high-intensity rain while others having an overcast sky.
The India Meteorological Department expects moderate rain in the region till Friday and has issued a yellow alert.
The monsoon line of trough is currently over Rajasthan and is shifting towards Delhi-NCR.
There is also an active western disturbance, creating favourable conditions for widespread or sporadic light to moderate rain over parts of Delhi-NCR.

Schools shut in Noida

Amid heavy rain, the district administration in Gautam Budh Nagar has ordered for closure of all schools in the district on Wednesday.
