Haryana Election Results 2024 Live Updates: BJP Set For Haryana Hat-Trick As Congress Trails

As the counting of votes for assembly elections is underway, former Haryana Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda exuded confidence on Tuesday and said that there was no doubt that the party will form the government in Haryana with a huge margin.
“No doubt, Congress is going to form the government with a huge margin. The party will decide (CM face). Congress will bring its own majority. The credit goes to all the party leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and most importantly to the people of Haryana,” said Bhupinder Hooda.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that the BJP has won the Jind constituency while the Congress has emerged victorious in Nuh. The BJP’s Krishan Lal Middha won in Jind and Congress’ Aftab Ahmed won in Nuh.

Several exit polls have indicated a possible Congress victory. However, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini of the BJP has dismissed these predictions. On the other hand, Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, the former chief minister, has confidently stated that his party will win a comfortable majority.
Haryana’s 90 constituencies witnessed polling on October 5, with a voter turnout of 67.90 per cent. A total of 1,031 candidates, including 464 independents and 101 women, competed in this high-stakes election.

Former Chief Minister and Congress candidate Bhupinder Singh Hooda who retained his stronghold on the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi Assembly constituency on Tuesday continued to express optimism about his party’s victory in the results of the Haryana Assembly polls.
“As per the input I have with me, we are touching the majority. Congress is getting the majority. There are several seats that we have won…but the same is yet to be updated…” Mr Hooda told reporters here as the Election Commission continued posting results from the counting of votes that began at 8 am today.
“I have news that counting is stopped at several places. We are getting the majority…This is a game, the ball is sometimes here, sometimes there but we will do the final goal,” Mr Hooda said.
Mr Hooda trounced his nearest rival Manju the candidtate put up by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with a margin of 70,626 as per Election Commission.

With the BJP racing ahead in Haryana as per the early trends, AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday said the “biggest lesson” of the poll results is that one should never be “overconfident” in the elections.
The BJP looks forward to a comfortable win in Haryana, leading in 50 of the 90 assembly seats.
“Let us see what the results are in Haryana. The biggest lesson of this is that one should never be overconfident in the elections,” said Mr Kejriwal addressing a gathering of the AAP municipal councillors.
“No election should be taken lightly. Each election and each seat is tough,” he added.

The Election Commission of India has announced that the BJP has won the Kharkhauda seat while the Congress has clinched Pehowa. In Kharkhauda, the BJP’s Pawan Kharkhoda won and in Pehowa, Congress leader Mandeep Chatha trumped.

BJP election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan met former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at the latter’s residence today as BJP looks set to form the government in the state for the third successive time.

The Congress will register a complaint with the Election Commission alleging a delay in uploading latest trends in the Haryana Assembly Elections.

“The Congress is going to form the government on its own in Haryana. The trends suggest we will get the majority. The real credit goes to the people of Haryana,” says Bhupinder Hooda of the Congress.
“BJP is leading in the elections and they (Congress) are celebrating because many people in the Congress party want Bhupinder Singh Hooda to lose the elections…I will accept the mandate of the public. If the high command wants, I will be the Chief Minister,” said BJP leader Anil Vij.
As the counting for Haryana Assembly elections got underway on Tuesday, Congress candidate from Jhajjar, Geeta Bhukkal hoped that they would win a thumping majority in the state.
“The manner in which people of Jhajjar constituency have given their blessings and support, I hope to win with a thumping majority from here. Congress will form the government in Haryana. Exit polls are in favour of Congress but I think these are not ‘Exact Polls’, we will win with an even higher number of seats. Congress fought elections on issues,”Geeta Bhukkal said.
Congress candidate from Kaithal, Aditya Surjewala was also confident of the party winning the election.
” We will win around 60 seats and BJP will come down to 15 seats, no other party will win any other seats. We have kept 7 promises and it has touched the hearts of people. Because of BJP, inflation has risen so much that it has become so difficult to run a household,” he said.

“BJP has been in power for 10 years. It is natural to have fatigue, but there was BJP’s misrule. This was a big factor. The electorate looks at their future and they know their future is Congress.
