AHMEDABAD: A man in his mid-30s was allegedly killed by his wife and in-laws by being forced to ingest acid. The victim, Prahlad Vaghela, had gone to the maternal home of his wife, Shilpa Vaghela, to get her back when he was allegedly killed.

A complaint of murder was registered at Madhavpura police station by Jignesh Vaghela, the brother of the victim, against Shilpa, Saku Parmar (her mother), Deepak Parmar (her brother) and a relative named Manoj Vaghela.
Jignesh stated that on Friday morning his sister told him that someone resembling his brother was lying near the Urban Health Centre in Madhavpura. He went to the spot and saw Prahlad.

He told police that Prahlad was in agony and told him that on Thursday night he had gone to convince Shilpa to come back to him. She had gone to her parents’ home for about a month, after a fight with Prahlad.
Prahlad told Jignesh that Shilpa told him to meet her at a petrol pump in the area. He stated that Shilpa, Saku, Deepak and Manoj assaulted him at the petrol pump and about 3am on Friday forced acid down his throat. Jignesh said he rushed Prahlad to Civil Hospital, where he died on Friday night.
The complainant stated Shilpa and Prahlad had got married in 2010. They have two daughters, a 10-year-old and a six-year-old. The family lived in a house in Madhavpura.
