EXCLUSIVE: Sonu Nigam to recreate Achha Sila Diya with Bhushan Kumar after spat

After a three-year-long feud, singer Sonu Nigam and T-Series’ head Bhushan Kumar decided to bury the hatchet and iron out their differences in June this year. Sonu even sang for a track in Laal Singh Chaddha, Shehzada and Adipurush, all projects backed by T-Series. Furthermore, Bhushan recently attended the singer’s 50th birthday bash, and their happy pictures from the night went viral, sparking off excitement for a possible collaboration. And now we have exclusively learnt that the two are teaming up for something super special.

Producer Bhushan Kumar recently attended singer Sonu NIgam’s 50th birthday bash.

Sonu is all set to recreate one of his most iconic and successful songs Achha Sila Diya from Bewafa Sanam (1995) that featured Shilpa Shirodkar and Bhushan’s uncle Krishan Kumar. The track was his first big hit with produced with Bhushan’s father, late music mogul Gulshan Kumar. The new version will be a new-age rendition of the classic, and will feature Sonu in the music video.

“This cover of Achha Sila Diya will officially mark Sonu-Bhushan coming back together after their public fight,” says a source, adding, “They didn’t have any apprehensions about working together. Sonu has been associated with T-Series since Gulshan Kumar’s days and he is very fond of the latter. There were certain misunderstandings between Sonu and Bhushan, but being old friends and frequent collaborators, the OG musical pair has moved past them.”

Sonu will start recording the song on Tuesday (August 8) and it is expected to release by end of this month. Not just Achha Sila Diya, we have also learnt that the two are working together on a “full-fledged music album” next. “Sonu and Bhushan will now be working together on many albums and songs. And what better way to restart this association than recreating the iconic track Achhha Sila Diya after 28 years,” the source adds, further stating, “There was another cover of Achha Sila Diya created by B Praak earlier this year, starring Rajkummar Rao and Nora Fatehi, but imagine the magic that Sonu’s voice will bring and the views it will generate, because the song remains one of his biggest hit from his initial days.”
