ED attaches assets worth Rs 6 crore of Lalu Prasad kin in land-for-job scam | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI/PATNA: The ED has attached properties having book value of Rs 6 crore belonging to former Bihar CM Rabri Devi, her daughter Misa Bharti and those belonging to father-in-law and husband of another daughter Hema Yadav in the railways job for land scam.

Rabri’s husband and former railways minister Lalu Prasad Yadav is one of the accused in the money laundering case being investigated by the ED. Last month, the CBI had filed a chargesheet in the same case against Lalu, his wife, and son and Bihar’s deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav.
Six properties attached situated in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Patna, are alleged to be “proceeds of crime” from the railways job scam. These include a residential building at D-1088, New Friends Colony, New Delhi in the name of a shell company called AB Exports Pvt Ltd. Two other land parcels are situated at Mahuabagh (Danapur), Patna, of which one each is owned by Rabri Devi and AK Infosystems Pvt Ltd, another shell company.

Another land owned by Misa Bharti has been attached at Bihta, Patna. Two industrial plots, one each in the names of Vineet Yadav and Shiv Kumar Yadav, husband and father-in-law of Hema Yadav, in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad have been attached.
An RJD spokesperson said, “Claims about attachment of properties show how central agencies are being used by the NDA government to harass the opposition. Such actions are illegal.”
