DMK man kills father, tries to frame rivals | India News – Times of India



CUDDALORE: Police arrested a DMK member on charges of strangulating his father to death and attempting to frame the husband of a panchayat union president for the deed, at a village in the district in Tamil Nadu. Police identified the accused as R Purushothaman, 42, a DMK functionary in the locality.

Police said enmity prevailed between Purushothaman and the husband of the president of LN Puram panchayat union after the civic body launched efforts to evict him from the house he constructed on a waterbody.
Purushothaman also had issues with his farther, Ramu, 69, over sharing ancestral properties, police said. Police said investigations showed that the accused strangulated his father using a towel. He then placed the body in the backyard of his house and went to the house of his rival with the towel and rubbed it on his slippers, in the belief that sniffer dogs would lead police to his rival’s house, police said.
